P&O name their new Dover/Calais ferries - Olympic Pride and Olympic Spirit
BBC news Kent reported earlier this week that Double Olympic gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes is to name the first of these ferries 'Olympic Spirit' when it's launched in early 2011 (a slight slippage from the original service commencement date of December 2010). The sister ship 'Olympic Pride' remains due to be delivered in Autumn 2011.

Have read elsewhere that the new ships can now not be named with the Olympic prefix as the olympic games committee have complained about breach of copyright on the brand for 2012 games. The naming is to go ahead with Dame Kelly Holmes though.

Great congratulations on the launch of new Dover Calais ferries. They really look amazing and as a frequent traveller, have seen the way how your ferries make a move at the Calais harbour.
